{Riya Amin}   Cyclones Head Coach

Hi Everyone! My name is Riya Amin! I'm super excited to be the head coach this season for Cyclones! I graduated from Belvidere North this past December and I am in the process of getting my CNA license at Rock Valley College. I have been a junior coach for Wildfire the past two seasons alongside AJ and am grateful to have the opportunity to take on a head coach position. I started off my cheer career 8 years ago in this same program and also went on and cheered at Belvidere North HS for the past four years! Whenever I am not thinking about cheer, you can find me shopping, getting Starbucks, and hanging out with my friends! During the summer, you can find me at the Rivets Stadium! I can’t wait to meet all of you and excited for the season to begin!

{AJ Carpenter}    Cyclones Assistant Coach
Hi Thunder families, my name is Anjolina Carpenter (Coach AJ) and I'm so excited to start another season with you all! I've been a part of TYCC for the past 2 years, head coaching the 1st-3rd grade team, Wildfire. I enjoyed every second of it and was fortunate enough to bring our team to state both years, one resulting in a 3rd place trophy! This year, I'll be assistant coaching Cyclones alongside our wonderful head coach Riya. My background being a cheer athlete started when I was very young, and ended as captain of my high school cheer team! A few fun facts about me: I love working with children! One of my main goals in life is to help pediatric patients in the medical field, which I'm currently going to school for. I also love spending time with my family and animals (3 cats, 1 dog)! I'm looking forward to another successful season and can't wait to see what it brings! Let's go Thunder!♥️⚡💙

{Berkley Carlson} Storm Head Coach
My name is Berkley Carlson & I am currently studying elementary education in college. I am so excited to be Storms head coach this season. This is my third year coaching for TYCC, and my first year with Storm, previously I coached Cyclones. I became an Allstar cheerleader when I was 7 and continued until I was a freshman in high school, where I began high school sideline cheerleading for football & basketball, and our competition team. You will all learn quickly that I have two Australian Shepherds that are my favorites, Mali & Atlas. When I'm not doing all things cheer, you can find me, the dogs & my boyfriend somewhere with our camper. I am so proud to have placed 3rd and 1st with Cyclones the last two years. I am looking forward to a great season and getting Storm back on that podium at STATE!

{Angel Lewis} Storm Assistant Coach
Hi! My name is Angel Lewis, and I am very excited to be coaching storm this year with Berkley!  I have been cheering for the last 14 years and actually started out on the TYCC program, after that I headed to Belvidere North where I cheered on varsity for 3 years and by the end of my senior year, I joined a quarter season at ICE where I competed at worlds on a level 6 team.  After high school I realized I was not done cheering and currently cheer D1 at NIU.  NIU is where I am studying to become a nurse practitioner specializing in trauma. When I am not cheering you can find me spending time with my friends and family. This will be my 3rd year coaching for TYCC, my first year was Jr coaching for cyclones, and my 2nd year I co-head coached cyclones beside Berkley.  I cannot wait for this season to begin and hopefully bring home some more hardware! Let’s go thunder!!
